This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Alhambra is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Alhambra follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Food were so so so good! Even the side dishes makes you come back for more. The Raw Marinated Crab were so plump and much more tummier than the ones i had in LA. Service also are wonderful. I wasnt able to get his name but he has been a wonderful server. Will definitely come back again for more 💕

I recently visited The Dae-Mun in Alhambra for lunch and had a great first impression. There is a small covered parking lot behind the restaurant with 2-hour parking for retail customers. If the lot is full, it's also fairly easy to find street parking nearby. The restaurant is clean with a modern, welcoming interior. Shortly after we were seated, the server served us complimentary bone broth, along with ice water. It was a nice touch that made the dining experience feel more welcoming. They are currently offering a Grand Opening Lunch Special through the end of July, which is a great opportunity to sample several of their signature dishes. We tried all the lunch special: * Yangji Sullung Tang (Beef Brisket Soup) * Chadol Sullung Tang (Fatty Sliced Brisket Soup) * Gamja-Tang (Spicy Pork Backbone Soup) * Dolsot Bibimbap (Hot Stone Bibimbap) The Beef Brisket Soup and Fatty Sliced Brisket Soup are very similar, with the main difference being the cut of beef. Both had a comforting broth. The Gamja-Tang was flavorful but surprisingly mild. I'd rate the spice level around 1.5 out of 10, making it enjoyable even for those who don't eat very spicy food. For a group of three, we ordered the LA Galbi + Mul Naengmyun combo, Haemul Pajun, and the Gejang Deopbap (Soy sauce marinated crab). We had leftovers for sure! The service was amazing, Ethan was very kind and attentive. He answered any questions we had and made sure our sides and water was always filled. He also provided us with complimentary bone broth as a palette cleanser! Loved it so much.

A friend told me that a new Korean restaurant opened up in Alhambra so we went to try it after a long day. It hit the spot! The Dae-Mun did not disappoint. They had some awesome banchans! I was obsessed with the egg plant and pumpkin! Loved the tricolor florets too and sprouts as well as marinated squid. They even welcome you with some hot beef broth! Bimbap was excellent as well my beef rib soup, meat fell off the bone! So tender and flavorful! The pork bossam was excellent, tender and flavorful and condiments were done well and it was beautifully presented. Came with raw oysters! Yum! Service was good and the ambiance nice. Looking forward to more yummy meals there!

This place just opened. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. I got their yangji sullungtang, dolsot bibimbap, and chive pancake to try. They started us off with some complementary broth and a bunch of banchan. The broth was umami, meaty, and mellow and all the banchan tasted pretty fresh and light. Nothing too pungent. My fave was probably this pepper one. The suluntang came rice, noodles, brisket, and a side pot of green onions and salt to season to taste and when you added it it helped to unlock the deep, comforting light beef flavor of the broth. Course you gotta mix the bibimbap and add some sauce and the rice got that nice crispy, toasted, bottom. Very comforting and yummy. It didn’t come with any meat tho. It did come with like this miso soup side tho. This was my first time having a Korean chive pancake and it was really good. They hand cut it table side and it had a Lightly crisp outside with a chewy, perfectly savory and fragrant inside. They also told me to pair it with this slightly sweet savory soy sauce which did take it to the next level. Portions are kinda small for the price but overall this place is still lowkey pretty good. Yangji sulluntang $18.95 Dolso
